Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) is an affiliate of the United States Chamber of Commerce working in over 60 countries globally. CIPE with the support of U.S Department State is currently implementing a project entitled “Restoring Ethiopian Civic Space for the Next Generation Leaders”.
The project provides resource and tools to enhance civic engagement in Ethiopia. CIPE has established the CIPE Civic Engagement Hub which is a coworking space and resource center that aims to support emerging civil society and business leaders as they start new organizations and initiatives aimed at fostering a vibrant civic space in Ethiopia.
What We Provide:
Twelve Coworking desks and a collaborative workspace
Conference room that can be reserved for meetings and trainings
Access to high-speed internet and computers
Resource library with guides on registration, management, advocacy and more
Opportunities to compete for seed grants to implement advocacy initiatives
Opportunities for one-to-one mentorship and group trainings from international and local experts
Regular opportunities to connect with community peers and leaders though speakers series and networking events
Who is Eligible?
Registered and non-registered Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations (CSO) Individuals and organizations working on advocacy initiatives in Ethiopia related to: policy change; youth participation; civic engagement; economic and political development in Ethiopia; digital economy and digital rights.
Social Entrepreneurs and Civic-minded Startups
Ethiopian Business membership organizations and associations
Individuals working on social enterprises or civically-engaged startups
Business that create employment opportunities for youth
Business planning service business startups Social enterprises, business, and startups working on policy advocacy initiatives
Individuals must be at least 18 years of age
Youth leaders between the ages of 18-35 are highly encouraged to apply
Women are highly encouraged to apply
