Application calls for 2020 Leadership Summit – Girl Up. Girl Up encourages participants to room together to add to the overall Leadership Summit experience. In addition to that, the online Girl Up Community is a great place to connect with fellow attendees and work out rooming plans.
The Summit is an enriching, cross-cultural experience that aims to empower, educate, and activate the potential of young change-makers. Through mentorship from Girl Up experts, thought leaders, celebrity champions and women trailblazers, Summit participants will uncover critical skills and be empowered to serve their communities as defenders of gender equality. The 9th annual Girl Up Leadership Summit will host more than 400 passionate youth advocates from around the world in Washington, D.C.
It is the platform for young leaders to learn from influential speakers, engage in skills-based workshops, and participate in a day of action. Furthermore, it is an opportunity for youth leaders to gain the skills, resources, and confidence to make an impact on gender equality in their communities.
Who can participate?
The Girl Up Leadership Summit is open to students aged 13-22 who are motivated and fearless and are willing to make a difference. Furthermore, this program is for youths who are bold and are ready to be a leader. The Girl Up Leadership Summit especially designed for students in high school. Moreover, Girl Up encourages students of all genders and backgrounds to attend the submit.

- Deepened understanding of the challenges faced by girls, and awareness of the current solutions.
- A network of peers committed to a world where girls have equal value, opportunity, as well as the chance to reach their fullest potential.
Candidates can apply for financial aid to attend this 2020 Leadership Summit. Girl Up will reimburse for up to $1,000 USD for transportation costs (bus/train/flight). In addition to that, it provides complimentary registration to the 2020 Girl Up Leadership Summit. All financial aid recipients must abide by Girl Up’s travel policy. The deadline to apply for need-based travel financial assistance is February 21, 2020. Girl Up cannot consider applications after this date.
